Room2-2022

 Sophie shared her didgeridoo with Room 2!  It was special to see her showing us some notes and thoughtful questions were asked! 

 Today Room 2 celebrated the class reward that they earned by collecting over 50 footstep points each! This was an exciting opportunity to wear PJs at school and enjoy time in our class blanket forts with friends.

  This week we started to look at space with some rocket research... We were shown a baking soda and vinegar rocket experiment!  After this, we used a template to create a rocket that would fly using straw power.

 Our virtue is 'Joyful' for the next two weeks. Take a look at Room 2 being joyful through dance.  They have been learning some dance moves to songs from 'The Greatest Showman' and 'Mary Poppins'. 

Kia ora, For those of you who I haven't been able to meet, my name is Sara Reedy and I am lucky enough to be doing my 5th term of post-grad teachers training at New Brighton Catholic. I am hanging out in Room 2 with Miss Pownall and so far we are having a blast. I have been on Year 6 camp to Living Springs where we were fed very well and had some exciting adventures (I loved going on the monorail as did most of the students!!). I also have been reading a beautiful novel called Wonder and we created some art work inspired by the book. We drew a self portrait and around ourselves we wrote things that make us unique.  Before I finish here is a little bit about me: I grew up on the West Coast of New Zealand.  I have a Bachelor in Performing Arts specialising in Music Theatre (I went to NASDA). I teach dance after school and on the weekends.  I can't wait to keep getting to know everyone and hanging out in Room 2!!  Kia pai tō rā, Miss Reedy
